Hello all,
Here are the rules for the 2024 Summer Rally Series
Class definition:
Rally Cars: Any car used in Off Road or On Road rally racing, Eligible cars must have a driver and co- pilot/navigator, two and four wheel drive cars are legal. You may run silicones on front and rear axles, or you may convert a 4 wheel drive car to 2 wheel drive, you may also install silicones on all four wheels. If your car came with suspension you can lock it, but it must remain at the stock ride height. Lead weight for ballast. Truing of wheels and tires allowed.
Rally Car options:
Early era:
Ninco Classic, and other makes fitted with narrow tires. Stock configuration other than modifications already allowed under stock definition: NC-1 motor or equivelant, narrow sillicones.
Non-podded Rally Cars
Any rally cars made by Ninco, Fly, Scalextric or SCX with solid chassis. Most of these cars carry 18k motors so that will be the upper limit on this class. Stock configuration other than modifications allowed under stock definition.
Podded Rally Cars
Any stock rally car that comes with a podded chassis. Stock configuration other than modifications allowed under stock definition.
Racing conditions:
10 laps will be run at each track, with the lowest elapsed time constituting the winner at each stage. The lowest elapsed time over the 10 laps wil be the winner of each stage. There will be one drop in the series to determine overall series winner. Any participants that miss more than one stage will automatically receive the longest elapsed time at each additional stage missed regardless of car options raced.
Early era cars will be calculated at 80% of the total elapsed time. The calculations will be the total number of seconds X .90.
Non-podded Rally cars will be calculated at 90% of the total elapsed time. The calculation will be the total number of seconds X .95.
Podded Rally cars will be calculted at their actual elapsed time.
You may mix and match which option you run at each stage. The goal is to introduce as many models to the series as possible.
Podded chassis rally cars are to be run stock no matter what motor came with the car. The bonuses for non-podded and narrow tire cars take that into consideration. Non-podded cars have the 18k limit which means Ninco 997s will need to detune. Ninco cars in this class can run up to an NC2 or NC5, 18k equivalent.
Vehicles in the narrow tire class must run the stock motor unless you are using a Ninco Classic. Ninco classic must use Ninco classic stock rules including the Nc1 or equivalent, 9/27, 9/24 or 10/27 gearing, and removing the front axle slop. Remember those cars will be receiving a 20% bonus so I think it will all balance out, and if someone can make a crappy narrow wheel Carrera rally car run with the stock motor, the challenge has been called.
SORRY Chuck, all cars must have a navigator. No NC1 classics or other modified cars. The goal is to use cars we have, expand the field of cars, and limit costs.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
