Last time we ran the big cars at Randys I noticed something that I thought I should bring to everyone's attention. The rear axle bushings are loose in the chassis when you buy it, which is not a great design. It takes very little for one of those bushings to misalign and bind the axle. It's just as likely that the bushing will start spinning with the axle and wear out the hole in the chassis. One little touch of solder is all it takes. You could solder it inside or outside, but the flange on the outside keeps you farther from the axle. Use a file to clean a small area on the bushing and a spot on the chassis too. Use plenty of flux, and a high temp iron with a chisel tip will be necessary. It's possible to cook the oil out of the bushings if you don't get it hot enough fast enough, if you can't get a good solder joint in 10-15 seconds, stop or you can ruin the bushings. If you need a hand with this, just let me know and we can do it at the next race.
