OK the club has voted to stay with copper tape. Where are we going to get it? Doors open for Coffee&Cars at 9am. Here is what is left to do. Paint and tape. Reconnect wire and trackmate. Landscaping. Without having the route and braid we should be able to finish it on Saturday.

really? If the track is in a climate controlled building I guess it would not be real bad, even with sealing, it's going to stretch and shrink a lot more than you think.

Plan on it. Bob, I found my Meadowdale video. The menu says it's 32 or 36 minutes. Not sure if you gave it to me or Tom did. I'll bring it with, you're welcome to borrow it.

Not sure if the braid is going back to Mick Brown or if MIRPA will keep it. Waiting to hear from Linda Daro. Jimmy the club voted on tape instead of re routing the whole track. Bob Dunkle had concerns about the Monza wall. Also no one has heard from Mick Brown since he dropped off the braid.

All tape should be applied after the repainted track is well dried. Track needs to be degreased, sanded, primed and painted before taping and wiring.

All irregulatities in slots must be blended first.

Braid will stay with MIRPA for future installation if needed. Thanks Larry Kelley for tape info. Rich did you check on your tape supply?

Maybe we figure out a way to prevent the track expansion and shrinkage from affecting the tape. I know some of the manufacturers claim that the adhesive conducts electricity so repairs and joints don’t need to be soldered, has anyone found that to be true? We may be able use that to our advantage. Maybe an unsoldered joint every “x” number of feet with an extra piece of tape layered over the joint to let it expand. Or maybe do something like a commercial track where you drill four holes, two on each side of the slot right next to each other and run the tape down through the hole and connect underneath, that way each piece of tape is only “x” feet long and there is no joint. We have enough intelligent individuals here to come up with a solution that can make tape work. Hell, Kevin and Phil’s tracks sit outside all year with no serious effect on the tape. Perhaps somebody who has a few minutes can blow a call into those two and see if they have some insight that may help us? Randy is the only one I’ve heard of having serious problems, maybe he’s doing something wrong, maybe it’s just because his track is so big, or perhaps there are some secrets that he doesn’t know of.

Not true. I bought some of that tape that claimed to be conductive on both sides and ended up proving it wasn't. I just took an OHM meter and it would not show continuity until you buried the leads into the actual tape.

The tape will be fine in the garage.

Just don't put so much tension on the tape when laying it down.

Gary gave me the specs, and the tape I have is too narrow... I also don't have near enough. I can't seem to find the brand Gary told me to look for. All I have seen are the brands listed above. I will search more tomorrow as time is of the essence...

Doors open for Coffee&Cars at 9am. I will be there at 10. Mike will be adding 1X3 side table bracing before rolling track outside for finishing. Gary is picking up paint and working on tape source.

Current wiring system is standard with tape as the track is now: Flat head screw THROUGH the tape with wires attached under. All existing screws need to be removed and saved so that the track can be painted. Punch hole through tape to reinstall screws and install wiring. Lapcounter area is only one that might need tape pulled in a hole to maintain the insulated gap.

I have never heard of any adhesive tape that might be conductive.

Track needs a computor/laptop and the software and monitor(s).....?

Linda Daro has a computer for the track.
